Are you wanting to take your dog fishing and camping with you? If you think you can go camping without a dog, you probably can go camping with a dog and your dog will love you for taking him along. First of all, you need to be sure you are physically able to restrain your dog if he is confronted with a wild animal, such as a snake, squirrel, deer, rabbit, or another dog, etc. Do you know your dog's temperament well enough to feel at ease with him in the wild? How would he react to a new situation such as meeting up with a very agressive dog or wild animal?
Outfitting your dog for a camping trip can be lots of fun. Furnishings from personal backpacks to sleeping bags to personal tents for dogs, as well as water and food carriers are available, and some of these trappings the dog can carry on his back in his personal backpack when you go on this trip. As far as fishing, there are certain breeds that love the water, and they would love to tag along for all the excitement. There are programs for training your dog to retrieve, both in the water and in the open field, and that is just a start.
Be sure to be prepared for an emergency such as a cut, or insect bites, by having a first-aid kit in your camping supplies, and be sure to include insect repellent. If you use a spray, you can spray the body, but take care not to spray near the eyes, as that would certainly cause irritation. You should use a cotton ball or such to apply repellent to the dogs face, head and ears, to repel the insects. Happy camping.
